ABOUT US

ABOUT US
Kids are the World is a non-governmental, voluntary, non-profit, and humanitarian organisation, whose main goal is to raise the quality of life for children and youth and integrate children into the educational system, as well as extracurricular activities and sport. Part of the organisation's funds is intended for the development of long-term programmes for improving living standards of underprivileged families. The programmes are adjusted to serve the needs of local conditions and are based on the analyses of locals' needs. All that in hopes of building the foundations for future development.

We unite individuals and companies, who want to decrease social and economic differences and actively participate in expanding solidarity towards the poor, developing values and protect the socially endangered families and children.
We have been active since December 2011, as volunteers, but we have actualized out ideas in August 2012, forming a humanitarian association.

POVERTY

Social differences cannot be treated in the same way everywhere around the world. That is especially important when we are trying to understand the concept of poverty, how the world portrays it according to continents, countries, or parts of the city that people live in.

Poverty is often connected to emotional distress and weak economy, which prevents children to fully develop their talents.

Poverty is also present in our country, although, in comparison to other countries, the health system works, educational system is in order, there is plenty of drinking water and most underprivileged people have roofs over their heads. We do believe that our conditions are not nearly as bad as the conditions in the Third World countries.

At the beginning, it was very hard to decide, whom to help. We have wanted to help everyone, which is hard and nearly impossible, so we decided for one target audience. The main idea is to help the children of the world, and to connect with similar Slovene and foreign associations, who share our vision.

OUR WORK, OUR MISSION

We have realised that many children grow up in difficult conditions. Many live in single-parent families, where a new toy is a luxury. We began thinking how nice it would be, if these children would have something new to bring them joy, helped them through though times, and to just show them that there are still people in this world who care about them.

Our mission is not only to help the underprivileged children, but also to educate and protect them. Education is a fundamental human right. Every child has a right to it.

By providing the access to quality education, we are building foundations for growth, innovations, opportunities and equality.

Main mission is to help vulnerable and poor children, educating and protecting them. Education is a fundamental human right. Every child is entitled to it. It is critical to our development as individuals and as societies, and it helps pave the way to a successful and productive future. When we ensure that children have access to a rights-based, quality education that is rooted in gender equality, we create a ripple effect of opportunity that impacts generations to come. Too many of the world’s children are out of school or receive spotty, sub-par educations. Each one of these children has dreams that may never be fulfilled, potential that may never be realized. By ensuring that every child has access to quality learning, we lay the foundation for growth, transformation, innovation, opportunity and equality.

THE BEGINNINGS

We are individuals, wives and mothers, who have realised that many children grow up in terrible conditions, and would like to aid them in any way we can. It began with the idea to cheer up the children in Gambia with toys that would bring smiles to their faces and joy to their lives. We wanted to help them through tough times and let them know that people care about them.

Our mission is not only to provide toys, but also to provide the means for education and improvement of the living conditions of children from underprivileged families. Our motto is that all children, regardless of their financial state, race, religion or nationality, should have access to their basic rights that make them happy and complete.

When we assure that all children have access to these rights, and quality education that draws from gender equality, we have influenced the generations who follow. The feedback has been very positive, so we decided to continue with our work.
